DROID X Vs. iPhone 4

To start I just want to say that they are both very good phones but there can only be 1 winner. To start the camera. The iPhone only has a 5MP where the Droid X has 8MP. The Droid X also has a better flash. One of the things that I like about the iPhone though is that it has a better resolution. Another thing that really stands out to the Droid X though is the WIFI hot spot. This hot spot can power WIFI for other devices. The iPhone can not do that. But one other thing the iPhone has is the camera on the front that can also be used for video calls. The last thing that I want to talk about is the Market places. The Apple App store has been out for a couple of years now and it only has 220,000 apps. The Android Market hasn’t been out that long and it already has 65,000 apps. This proves that the Android market is growing much faster than the App Store.

To close this blog I want to say that both phones are great phones but I am going to say the Droid X is better. But it is only better by a little bit. I think that there is going to be a lot of competition between Apple and Google coming up.

All in all I think both the Droid X and the iPhone are almost equally good phones and they both have their ups and downs.

The Book Thief: By Markus Zusak

Is The Book Thief a book worth your time… Or is it just a thief of your time?

The Book Thief takes place in Germany during World War II. This book does something different. Its narrator of the whole story is Death. The main character of this story is Liesel Meminger. Liesel passed Death three times in her life. Leisel is a teenage girl who gets taught how to read. When she learns how to read she starts to steal books because she loves to read. The first book she ever stole was the “Grave Digger Handbook” and she stole that book before she ever knew how to read. This book is full of twists and adventure like when the family hides a Jew named Max.

I loved this book it was full of suspence and drama. You never know what is going to happen, that is why I rate it as a (4.8/5)

This is definetly a book that you want to read some time. This book is a great book and I am sure that you will love it.

To Save A Life (Movie Review)

I currently just watched the movie “To Save A Life”. I was looking through the movies and I found it. But is this movie worth your time?

“To Save A Life” is rated PG-13 because some of the scenes are too intense for smaller viewers.

This movie is about a teenage boy named Jake Taylor who discovers a whole new person in himself when an incident happens at school that causes him to lose one of his childhood best friends that he had lost track of.

The acting in this movie wasn’t very good and the movie took awhile to get to the point. But it wasn’t the acting that stuck out to me, it was the story of the movie. This movie gave me a whole new mindset. I don’t think this movie would be any good to an adult because they have already chosen their life. But as a high school student myself I liked the movie. It made me realize and notice how people are judged and treated during school. It also made me see how people are judged and it can really upset other people. Because it wasn’t the greatest movie I give it a (3/5) but I definitely would see it because it will probably teach you a lot.

Droid X Hints and Tricks

These are some hints and tricks I use with my Droid X.

For my first tip, if you go to your settings and then application, you can set your double tap home for different things, such as, Dialer, Send message, contacts and more.

Another trick is if you hold down your home button, your recent apps page will appear.

When you first get your Droid X it is not set on 8mp camera mode. Make sure you change it click the 4 square button while running the camera. A screen will appear with a lot of different modes like video quality, picture quality, face detector, shutter animation and Exposure.

*Remember the higher the quality of picture or video the more room it takes up on your phone!*

My last hint is you should download the “Advanced Task Killer” app. This app will help set up what apps will stop running when not being used. This will conserve a lot of your battery.

I realize that when you turn on your droid sliding your finger to unlock it gets annoying. You can turn that off by going to settings > location and security > and unchecking the screen lock box. This disables the sliding to unlock and now all you have to do is hit the home button.

When you are trying to edit your text it can be hard to clink in the exact part that you want to change. Well if you click anywhere a red circle will appear if you press and hold the red circle it turns into a magnifying glass. When you see that magnifying glass keep holding it down and scroll to the area that you wanted to change. This will makes it a lot easier to find the test that you wanted to edit.

Google Sky Map App Review (Andorid)

Google Sky Map

The Google Sky Map app sounds like a great app to download. But is it worth your time?

Google Sky Map allows you to scan the night sky with your phone. It shows the sky’s layers, constellations, galaxies and planets. I think this would be the perfect app for a perfect clear dark night with lots of stars. With the menu you can turn off the planets, constellations and much more to make finding a certain place in the sky easier. You can also turn off auto mode and just browse through the sky.When auto mode function is off you can use the search to find what you were looking for.

The only bad thing about this app is that it can be difficult to navigate through the sky in auto mode. I was also having trouble with this app because it was con lined up right.

I think this app is a great app but it isn’t at its 100% yet so I rate it a (3.5/5) but I can definetly see someone using this app when they go camping or when they just want to look at the sky.

Alchemy App Review(Android and iPhone)

Alchemy App

The Alchemy App is a free game/app that you can download onto your Android. But is this app even worth your time?

In the game you start out with the four main elements Water, Fire, Earth and Air. You have to combine those elements to make a different element completely. For example if you drag Earth onto Water you create a Swamp.

The point of this game is to keep combining these elements until you have created all 300 of them. This might seem really easy but it gets pretty difficult.

I think this game is very fun and addicting. So I would probably download this game.

Ustream App Review (Android & iPhone)

Ustream App Review

This is a new app to the market. It allows you to stream videos for other people to view live. But why would you need it?

I have recently messed with it a little but what I found was it was very hard to find the videos that you wanted to view. Even when you find the video it only showed up once for me. The other time the screen was just black. The commenting was the only thing that I was happy with. When you are watching the video, you can type comments. These comments show up on the screen of the iPhone or the Android.

I think this app has potential but it has a very long way to go. That is why I rate this app as a 1/5

Movies App Review (Android & iPhone)

I have recently downloaded the application “Movies”. But, is this app worth downloading?

This app gives you lists of movies in the Box Office and also lets you watch their trailers. Another thing that this App does is locates theaters near you and shows you movies and showtime in that theater.

Another feature that this app provides is upcoming movies that arent even out yet and you can also view those movies trailers.

On all of the movies it shows the percentage of  critics and viewers that liked it.

So if you or your family are big movie watchers then this app is perfect for you.

I give this app a  4.5/5

Bump app (Android and iPhone)

Bump app

The “Bump” app is an application that helps you share items like contacts, photos, contacts and other apps. But is bump actually something worth downloading or is it just a waste of space?

The other day I tried using “Bump” with two Androids. It worked but it took a long time to sync and it was only 1 contact. Bump is just like Bluetooth except it is slower.

I think that Bump is a useful app but only if you could actually use it. If I had an Android or iPhone I wouldn’t download it unless you knew someone else with an Android or iPhone that you wanted to sync with.

But all in all I think Bump could be a very useful app for people that need/want to transfer items from one device to another.

But because the transfer between devices is slow and takes a long time I rate this app a 3 out of 5.
